Kellogg’s gives green light to traffic light labelling by Caterlyst | Caterlyst - https://www.caterlyst.com/Kellogg’s is to start using the Government’s traffic light labelling on products to clearly show shoppers the fat, sugar and salt levels.
The use of the labelling will start in January, and will then appear on all the group’s product range by early 2020.
The new labelling will be seen on the following brands first: Coco Pops, Crunchy Nut, Corn Flakes, Rice Krispies, Frosties and Special K.
Kellogg’s UK managing director Oli Morton said the decision followed a survey of 2,000 UK cosnumers who were asked about their attitudes towards labelling. He said, ‘Put simply, they said we should change and move to a full colour solution as they want help making healthy decisions. We’ve listened and now we’re acting.’
Traffic light labelling will not be used on Kellogg’s multilingual boxes, shared across several European countries, where the system is not well-known, nor will it appear on single serve packs.
