Headed up by the same team behind award-winning modern Indian restaurant The Cinnamon Club, it is Cinnamon Kitchen’s fourth win with its selection of creative canapés continuing to impress the judging panel.
The winning canapé, named Hiran Ka Shikar – aka The Deer Hunt – was a joint effort from Executive Chef Vivek Singh and chefs James Mossman and Ramachandran Raju in celebration of game season. The modern game dish with an Indian twist showcased a duo of venison – a clove smoked venison loin and Kerala toddy shop venison pickle, served on a beetroot and tapioca crisp, topped with tamarind jelly, pitod, coriander, yoghurt and pomegranate.
Twelve other restaurants took part in the competition which saw 300 specially selected visitors and Square Meal critics voting for their favourite canapé.
Cinnamon Kitchen is part of The Cinnamon Collection group and is rather fittingly located in the historic East India Company spice warehouses, transformed into the stunning Devonshire Square development, just a short walk from Liverpool Street station.
