The Ice Factor Group has won the contract to operate the a new £30m indoor snowsports centre in Middlehaven, Middlesbrough, which will create 300 jobs.
The complex, which got the green light from councillors last week, will feature a 557ft (170m) ski slope, climbing area, indoor sky-diving centre, shops and cafes.
Construction of the venue is planned to start early next year, with the aim to open in summer 2019.
The development group behind the scheme, Cool Runnings (NE) expects the centre to attract over two million visitors per year.
Ice Factor Group owns Snow Factor Braehead near Glasgow and Ice Factor Kinlochleven, the world’s largest indoor ice climbing centre.
