Fabric to appeal revoke of licence

Iconic London nightclub, Fabric looks set to appeal Islington Council’s decision to revoke its licence.

The campaign will be backed by the Night Time Industries Association, who are hoping to raise £500k in order to support the club’s legal fees.

NTIA deputy chair and owner of Proud Gallery in Camden, Alexander Proud, told Mixmag that this was a ‘critical moment’ for UK clubbing. He added that he would be donating £10k himself to the Fund For Fabric.

As it stands, Fabric is permanently closed following Tuesday’s night’s decision which saw the club lose its license, which came after a six-hour long council meeting reviewing the club’s “culture of drugs”.

Over 155,000 people have signed an online petition for the club to stay open.
