Operator of hotels and restaurants, the Know Group has acquired Liverpool-based Piri Piri Express franchise to aid expansion of the brand.
Piri Piri Express founder Paulo Alves will continue to lead the business, which services the Southport, Magull & Aintree areas of Merseyside.
The brand offers customers an authentic Portuguese dining experience using secret family recipes, with ingredients direct from Portugal.
The free-range chicken is marinated and then cooked over charcoal grills, and is served in the secret sauces of Lemon & Herb, Mango & Lime, Medium, Hot and Very Hot.
Beyond chicken, the menu includes gambas (tiger prawns), Portuguese fishcakes, calamari, ribs and speciality burgers, all cooked on fire grills, using recipes that have been in Alves’ family for generations.
The Know Group has two hotels, The Richmond Hotel in Liverpool, The Townhouse, Chester, and a luxury hostel, Sleep Eat Love. It also owns Love Thy Neighbour, a healthy eating cafe brand, with two outlets in Liverpool and Chorlton.
