Merseyside luxury hotel & golf resort to sink £18m into expansion

Merseyside-based Formby Hall is planning to invest £18m in the expansion of its golf resort and spa, including 63 new bedrooms (CGI image pictured).

The submitted plans also include a new golf clubhouse and function room, lakeside lodges, and a high-end spa building.

The spa facilities will include treatment rooms and a relaxation areas with views across the lake; a thermal suite; saunas, showers and lounging areas; an indoor and outdoor vitality pool; an external hot tub and terrace, and a bistro/deli with an external terrace.

The four lakeside lodges, situated next to the new spa building and overlooking the lake, would provide alternative accommodation to the hotel, with each having two bedrooms and a kitchenette.
