New pizza chain selects intu Merry Hill for first UK site

Pizza SQR is set to launch the first of a new chain of grab-and-go pizza restaurants at intu Merry Hill.

The brand new concept will open at intu Merry Hill this summer as intu prepares to invest £100 million to replicate the successful leisure offer of its other popular locations across the UK.

Pizza SQR will sell artisanal square pizza slices and is on its way to becoming one of the biggest pizza chains in the country with plans to open 100 stores in the next five years, each priding themselves on the quality of their highly appetizing pizza.

Davide Cason, operations manager at Pizza SQR, said, “If there’s one thing I believe, it’s that pizza doesn’t need to be complicated. I am excited to introduce Pizza SQR; simple and delicious pizza as square slices.

‘Our menu will combine the freshest ingredients, seasonal toppings and expert craftsmanship to create, based on authentic recipes from Rome, pizza everyone is going to love! But, pizza is only just a slice of it. Through the week, we will also serve freshly made sandwiches, soups, pastries and of course, authentic Italian coffee.

“intu Merry Hill is a fantastic destination with enormous potential as a key dining location. It’s really exciting to be launching the first Pizza SQR there.”

intu plans to build a 180,000 sq ft leisure extension at intu Merry Hill that will introduce more new restaurants and an on-site cinema, bringing the centre’s retail and leisure mix in line with destinations like intu Trafford Centre. Similar developments are underway at intu Lakeside and intu Watford.
