Paradise Garage gains Bib Gourmand & scoops two YBF awards

Paradise Garage, the modern British restaurant on Paradise Row is celebrating a series of achievements this autumn, earning a Bib Gourmand in the 2017 Michelin Guide for Great Britain and Ireland, and taking home two awards from the annual YBF (Young British Foodie) Awards for ‘Front of House’ and the ‘Chefs’ category.

Having opened in 2015 to critical acclaim, Paradise Garage is the third project from Chef Robin Gill after opening The Dairy and The Manor in Clapham, both of which are known for their emphasis on locality and quality of produce.

Paradise Garage was recognised for its thoughtfully-prepared dishes and inventive tasting menus at this year’s Michelin launch event on 3 October, where it was announced it had been awarded a Bib Gourmand; a sought after achievement for restaurants which the judges deem to offer both high-quality food and good value for money.

As one of just 15 new Bib Gourmand restaurants located in London and a relative newcomer to the restaurant scene, the team are honoured to receive such recognition just over a year after opening.

This announcement followed on from a successful evening at the YBF Awards; an annual event which celebrates the best of Britain’s up and coming culinary talent. The award categories span the breadth of the hospitality world; ranging from the most popular street-food to the best in baking.

New to 2016’s awards was the ‘Front of House’ Award, which was awarded to Paradise Garage’s talented General Manager Claire Wright for her ability to ‘make diners feel special’ and for her focus on teamwork.

The group continued its winning streak with Richard Falk, Head Chef of The Dairy, snapping up the much anticipated ‘Chefs’ award, having impressed the judges with his inventive menu of dishes such as ‘Heritage wheat sourdough with pickles & coral pancake, lobster & chicken skin’.

Speaking of these recent achievements, Robin Gill commented, “I couldn’t be prouder or happier to see our talented family being recognised for their obsessive love for the industry. Everyone works very hard to produce some incredible food, so when awards like this are achieved it really does keep us all inspired and continue to keep pushing.”
