A new pub called the Prince of Peckham has opened on Clayton Road, just off Peckham High Street, London.
Formally the Clayton Arms, the new pub will now offer street food favourites and street feast specialists White Men Can’t Jerk will run the kitchen.
The menu will include Caribbean and British classics including jerk sausage and mash, jerk sausage rolls and a curried mutton shepherd’s pie.
Owner Clement Ogbonnay also plans to host regular free events and workshops that celebrates the local culture and focuses on the local community.
Ogbonnaya said, ‘I used to go to school just down the road from Prince of Peckham and have been here ever since. To be able to do what I love in the place I grew up in makes this all the more special. Prince of Peckham will be a place where everyone can feel at home, but first and foremost it will be a proper pub for South London, by South London.’
