Andrew Brownsword Hotels set to acquire Oxfordshire site

Andrew Brownsword Hotels has announced that they are in the process of acquiring the Old Swan and Minster Mill in Minster Lovell, Oxfordshire, from the de Savary family.

The deal expects to be completed within a week and will see the five-AA-star, 59-bedroom property become the 13th in the Andrew Brownsword Hotels collection. Completion will be on 1 August. Additionally, the acquisition is the result of a private sale between the two families.

Lana de Savary acquired the Old Swan and Minster Mill in 2010. Previous de Savary owned and developed properties include the St James’s Clubs globally, the Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle, Scotland; Bovey Castle, Devon; and Stapleford Park in Leicestershire.

Andrew Brownsword Hotels is a collection of privately owned hotels in the UK and the Old Swan will join its three existing Cotswolds properties: Buckland Manor, the Slaughters Manor House and the Slaughters Country Inn.

Andrew Brownsword said: “We’re delighted to have acquired the Old Swan and Minister Mill, adding an Oxfordshire property to our collection of beautiful country house hotels and our city centre ABode group. The hotel has a great offering for both leisure guests and the events market, and we look forward to working with its team to build its reputation still further.”

The inn will continue to operate as usual for the immediate future.
