Chef's Office, Create, Inspire, Connect

The team behind street food company Bao has revealed plans to open an upmarket Taiwanese restaurant called Xu, on Soho’s Rupert Street in Spring.

The 68-cover restaurant, is named after co-founder Erchen Chang’s late grandfather.

The restaurant will feature a traditional Taiwanese menu featuring xiao tsai (bar snacks) including century quail’s egg and smoked Taiwanese sausage and a main menu will include goose and pork served in typical Taiwanese ‘Lu Wei’ style as well as street food inspired options.

There will also be a ‘tea bar’ on the ground floor of the restaurant which will offer a selection of Taiwanese tea.

Bao opened its second site in Windmill Street, Fitzrovia in 2016.
