Casual Dining Group scoops Good Egg Award

Chef's Office, Create, Inspire, Connect

Casual Dining Group (CDG), the leading UK restaurant group, took home the Good Egg Award at this year’s Good Farm Animal Welfare Awards, run by Compassion in World Farming (CIWF).

The accolade, which was presented at 8 Northumberland Avenue, London, on 28 June, recognises that CDG has successfully achieved its goal to use 100% free range whole shell eggs across its estate. It also acknowledges the commitment CDG has made to source 100% free range eggs as an ingredient in all processed products, across all brands, by 2022.

The result demonstrates the company’s wider ongoing commitment to source products sustainably and ethically; achieved by working closely with Government, NGOs, suppliers and producers to continuously build on and improve all aspects of its supply chain assurance programme, including responsible animal welfare management.

Simon Galkoff, Procurement Director, Casual Dining Group, said, ‘We are delighted to have won this award, which is testament to the hard work of our team, our suppliers and their producers.

“Through dedication and hard work we have come a long way in a short space of time. We’re very grateful to the CIWF for its help and invaluable support and advice throughout our journey.

“Looking forward, we will continue to work closely with our committed partners who share our vision on sustainability, so that we can guarantee our customers quality, sustainably sourced ingredients.”
