Today, to celebrate the current heatwave sweeping London, British food delivery service Deliveroo will be giving away 3000 ice creams for free across the capital today to help Londoners beat the heat as they tackle their commute home this evening.
The huge ice cream giveaway will take place along the Bakerloo Line, the hottest line according to the latest figures from TFL, at Regent’s Park, Waterloo and Embankment. Deliveroo’s riders will be giving away Ben & Jerry’s Cookie Dough Wich and Magnums from Deliveroo restaurant the Ice Cream Store.
Joe Groves at Deliveroo said “It’s no secret us Brit’s can’t cope in the heat, as the only major British food delivery service we feel the public’s pain (and sunburn). Nothing quite beats the quintessential hellish London experience of a sweaty tube carriage. What would you prefer a face full of wet pit or a delicious ice cream?”
