Michelin-awarded chef takes centre stage at Royal Albert Hall restaurant

Chef's Office, Create, Inspire, Connect

Renowned French Michelin-awarded chef Eric Chavot is bringing his magic to a whole new level of brilliance at the world-famous Royal Albert Hall, as Consultant Chef of fine-dining restaurant Coda, operated by rhubarb.

Exclusively for ticketholders, the curtain goes up on the restaurant two hours before each show begins for a culinary performance of its own and the first act of a show-stopping evening.

Coda by Eric Chavot offers a French-inspired menu, serving delicious seasonal plates inspired by Chavot’s love of the traditional food of Gironde. Light and creative starters will include sea bream ceviche with citrus dressing, beef tartare with soft-boiled quails egg, and pickled salt-baked beetroot with blue cheese crumb and spicy pecan.

Much like an impressive second act, mains are sure to hit the high notes too, with beautifully prepared dishes of seared brill with squid ink linguine and mustard velouté; hearty fillet tournedos with triple-cooked chips, onion rings and peppercorn sauce, and creamy ricotta gnocchi with Berkswell cheese and broccolini.

Desserts, which can be taken pre-show or during the interval, include Chavot’s signature baba au rum with pineapple carpaccio and vanilla Chantilly; pistachio chocolate pot de crème with pistachio crème glacée; and coupe exotique – banana ice-cream, passion fruit and guava sorbet and citrus meringue.

For those on a plant-based diet, Chavot has also created a seasonal vegan menu to accompany every show. Guests can enjoy white bean velouté with crispy shallots to start; followed by charred potato gnocchi with beetroot, sprouting broccoli and parsley dressing, and a decadent dark chocolate coconut slice with raspberry sorbet to finish.

Aperitifs can be enjoyed at Coda’s dedicated gin bar. Choose your poison – Gordon’s, Bombay Sapphire and No.3 – and watch as Coda’s master mixologists muddle up scintillating serves, with either floral elderflower, fresh and crisp cucumber, or citrusy Angostura bitters, served to taste; the perfect pre-show tipple.

Coda has a selection of crowd-pleasing cognacs, to an encore-worthy Espresso Martini – vodka, espresso and coffee liqueur) or Juliette Martini – gin, solerno and blood orange liqueur.

Located on the Hall’s Rausing Circle level and offering stunning views over Kensington Gardens, Coda is the perfect canvas for a dinner in the spotlight. To complement Chavot’s simple yet imaginative menu, the space is tastefully dressed with neutral greys, textured upholstery, statement lilac lighting and fuchsia orchids.

Coda is open for two hours before every show and during the interval for dessert and drinks. Coda by Eric Chavot – the headline act at Royal Albert Hall this winter.
