New all-day dining restaurant to open in the Apex Hotel City of London

A brand new all-day dining restaurant and cocktail bar is set to launch in the Apex Hotel City of London on Seething Lane in September.

The new restaurant is called the Lampery and has been inspired by former Seething Lane resident food diarist Samuel Pepys, who’s favourite dish was Lampery ‘pye’.

The Lampery will be run by Chef Edward Smith who will serve a British inspired menu created from locally sourced produce.

Dishes will include the Lampery pye, made with beef and prunes, rarebit crumpet bread and a thick pea and ham soup.

The cocktail bar menu will have a new take on classic cocktails which will include the Red Snapper, a Bloody Mary and Not Your Pepy’s Manhatten which is a combination of Woodford Reserve, Licor 43, Martini Ross, Jim Beam and orange bitters.
