New GMs at Malmaison Cheltenham & Belfast hotels

The 15-strong boutique hotel chain, Malmaison has appointed new general managers at its Cheltenham and Belfast hotels.

Antonio Sanchez, the former deputy general manager at Malmaison Oxford, has become the general manager of the 62-strong staff at Malmaison Cheltenham.

Chris McLaughlin is the new general manager at Malmaison Belfast, joining from Hastings Hotels’ Culloden Estate and Spa in Northern Ireland, where he was deputy general manager. McLaughlin will oversea a team of 55 staff.

Scott Harper, chief operating officer of Malmaison and Hotel du Vin, said, “We’re really pleased to announce the appointments of Antonio and Chris as general managers. People development is hugely important to us here at Malmaison – so we’re delighted to promote Antonio to general manager, and to welcome Chris, who brings in-depth knowledge and impressive experience, to the team.

“Their focus on customer service and guest experience gives me total confidence that both Chris and Antonio with be hugely successful in their roles, and I look forward to working with them in their new capacities over the coming year to build on the existing success of both hotels.”

Malmaison was established in 1994, and is now owned by Singapore-based Frasers Hospitality Group.
