Next phase of Fosse Park’s multimillion pound redesign planned this year

The next phase of redevelopment at Leicester’s Fosse Park is planned to take shape this year, further cementing the retail park’s reputation as the region’s premium shopping destination.

The proposed works will build on the redesign already underway at the park, which has seen new modern store facades installed, alongside freshly landscaped public spaces and upgraded pedestrian walkways.

This latest news follows five store openings at Fosse during 2016, with Primark, Office, Pandora, Superdrug, and JD Sports all opening their doors in freshly remodelled retail space.

As part of on-going investment at the park, new frontages are planned for another stretch of stores, extending the modern, attractive environment for shoppers. Further improvements to signage and landscaping will also be introduced, enabling easier access and way finding.

Mike Bell, Asset Manager at The Crown Estate, which manages Fosse Park, said: “It’s great to see our redevelopment of Fosse Park taking shape, with five exciting new stores joining the line-up over the last few months, alongside newly revitalised buildings and public spaces. We understand that as well visiting the best stores, today’s shoppers prefer to spend their time in more attractive, accessible surroundings, which is why we’re investing to enhance the setting and visitor experience at Fosse”

Blaby District Council issued a resolution to grant planning consent in November 2016 for the neighbouring Castle Acres Shopping Park, a 150,000 sq ft retail and leisure extension, supported by the Fosse Park Partnership, alongside Next and site-owners Everards. Debenhams have confirmed they will open a 90,000 sq ft store, alongside a three-storey Next, featuring an extensive Home and Garden range alongside its Fashion offering, and a 34,000 sq ft TK Maxx.

These works will build on Fosse’s existing appeal for shoppers in Leicestershire, who take advantage of the park’s easily accessible location, 2,500 car parking spaces, and excellent retail line up, all anchored by a 105,000 sq ft M&S store.
