Street Eats Foods acquires Tasties of Chester facility

Chef's Office, Create, Inspire, Connect

Street Eats Foods has acquired the Deeside-based sandwich factory of Tasties of Chester out of administration through Duff & Phelps, securing the future of 188 jobs.

The 40,000 sq m West Dryaton site – a £4m investment by Tasties – was sold by the company to trade buyer Greencore prior to administrators being appointed.

The new site has been part of a plan to triple its manufacturing capacity and improve distribution links within the south of England. Tasties then ran into difficulties with cash flow issues following the opening of a second facility in Stockley, near Heathrow Airport.

The facility, which was opened just 18 months ago, is used for making sandwiches, toasties, salads and other food-to-go products, servicing retailers, airlines and railway franchisees.
