Tommi’s Burger Joint to open first site beyond London next week in Oxford

Tommi’s Burger Joint is to open its first UK site outside of London on Tuesday 24 October, in the newly renovated Westgate Shopping Centre, Oxford.

The hot new addition to the Oxford dining scene will be cooking up the top-class burgers for which the brand is renowned – with produce carefully sourced from their trusted British suppliers including award-winning HG Walter butchers in Barons Court, London, and Millers Bakery.

Diners will be able to sit around the kiosk where the grill will be centered, offering a first-hand view of the food being prepared. Unique to the Oxford site, Tommi’s will be serving draft beer, making the burger joint the only venue inside the food court to do so.

Like the three London sites, Oxford will serve the popular menu of burgers including chicken and vegetarian, as well as the classic and steak burgers. The burgers are cooked on an American gas grill to enhance the charcoal flavor, and garnished in the classic diner style with iceberg lettuce, tomatoes and chopped onions. The all-important fries are served alongside homemade sauces and including Tommi’s own burger sauce.

Tommi’s Burger Joint representative said, “When the opportunity to open in Westgate came to us we were really excited because of the location and quality of the whole project. Oxford is a quintessential English city steeped in history and heritage.

‘We thought that it would be the ideal location for the next Tommi’s Burger Joint with its bustling city centre and strong student presence.”

Tommi’s began life in London as a pop-up on Marylebone Street in 2012, and such was its success, made the move to a permanent site on Thayer Street in August 2013, swiftly followed by its second location on Chelsea’s Kings Road later that same year.

2017 has been a busy year for Tommi’s with April already seeing the successful opening of Tommi’s third London site in Berwick Street, Soho. Oxford’s Tommi’s Burger Joint site will be the first site in the UK within a food court, offering the same Tommi’s quality of food to a new exciting audience.
