Tongue & Brisket opens third London site

Chef's Office, Create, Inspire, Connect

Tongue & Brisket has opened a third site in central London, situated on Goodge Street, joining sister sites in Holborn and Soho.

The quick service brand specialises in hand-cured and hand-carved salt beef, using traditional recipes and methods.

The menu is reminiscent of the salt beef delis of New York and offers a selection of sandwiches, served on rye bread, along with other traditional Jewish fare.

For breakfast there are treats such as Salt Beef Stack comes with salt beef, latka and a fried egg on a bagel or toast, Smoked Salmon & Poached Egg, and Salt Beef Omelette.

Main sandwiches include Salt Beef, Chicken Schnitzel, Chopped Liver, Roast Beef, Ox Tongue, and Smoked Salmon. Customers can opt to add extra toppings, including sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and sage & onion stuffing.

For those who just want salt beef and ox tongue, they can order a Meat & Salad Box. There’s also the brand’s famous chicken soup, served with a classic matzo ball.

Desserts include Apple strudel, Pecan pie, Halva, Cheesecake, and Chocolate brownie.

The brand comes from the founder of the iconic B&K Salt Beef Bar. Bambos Georgiou started life in the salt beef trade in 1950s, working in the West End’s Windmill Street. His reputation soared when he was approached by the owner of Selfridges to open a salt beef bar in its Food Hall. After establishing the Brass Rail, Bambos went to open B&K Salt Beef Bar in Edgware and Hatch End.
