The Vamps frontman Bradley Simpson and his family are to open Simpsons Gin Bar, which is set to open its doors in February in Sutton Coldfield, Brimingham.
The singer is taking on the role of marketing manager, and occasional DJ, in the new venture at the town centre site.
The ‘high-class’ drinking establishment aims to hark back to the 1920s, to the days of the ‘speakeasy’ jazz bars in the States and will offer table service, along with a wide array of gin, spirits, cocktails and select bottled-beers. It will also have live music nights were Brad’s experience will come into play.
Simpsons Gin Bar will be split on two levels with a bar on the lower level, with tables and chairs and a booth on the upper level, along with a leather sofa and more seating.
It’s a gin bar, but there will also be rum, whisky, champagne, cocktails and bottled beers.
During the day, the bar will sell tea and the family hopes to serve up Tapas food, alongside the spirits.
The family have already recruited three bar staff, bar manager Ollie Overton, Jack Malin, and Lydia Borg. The trio bring a wealth of bar experience having all worked at the Brewhouse and Kitchen in Birmingham Road, where Ollie was also the head brewer for several months.
