Wiltshire village pub acquired by experienced operators

Grade II-listed pub and restaurant, The Rose & Crown, in the Wiltshire village of Tilshead, was sold through Christie & Co off a freehold guide price of £395k.

Ideally positioned on the A360 in the heart of the village, the popular thatch and stone pub benefits from high volumes of trade due to its close proximity to local attractions, such as Stonehenge, Avebury World Heritage Site, Longleat House & Safari Park and Thruxton Motor Racing Circuit.

Formerly owned and run by experienced operators, Reg, Teressa and Teresa Capon, the business has grown in popularity over the past five years, generating custom not only from the local community but also the many visitors to the area, serving fresh home cooked dishes.

The business attracted a significant amount of interest before being sold to new owners and experienced restauranteurs, Dr Priya Naraynsingh and Riccardo Grigolo, who are planning on a short period of refurbishment prior to reopening in time for the summer tourist season.

They commented, “We hope to run The Rose & Crown as a gastropub so that the locals can still enjoy their local pub but with the introduction of some Italian food and an area to enjoy Italian dining as well to attract some customers from further afield.”
